Queer Producer Jack Ward Releases Old-School Inspired Single “My Angel Rocks 4th and Back”

By Ellen Pentony

Starting with a slow build, Limerick native Jack Ward’s new single is an infectious old-school track that bursts into life with rising synths and a thick, driving bassline. “My Angel Rocks 4th & Back” is sure to get you bopping along while you get through yet another day of working from home and start enjoying the weekend.

The track is inspired mostly by Vengaboys, Omar-S, and the late SOPHIE, with Ward saying he wanted to “encapsulate the idea of taking a classic, rave-focused breakbeat groove and look at working pop elements in melody and structure throughout the song.”

“My Angel Rocks 4th & Back” is Ward’s first track since his 2020 Patrúin track in aid of Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland. 2021 looks set to be an exciting year for the producer as he gears up for more releases.
