‘’Oh My God Oh Canada’’ is the latest single from Saint Sister from their upcoming album Where I Should End. Delicate and poignant, the track opens with soft atmospheric piano chords before picking up pace with electronic synth, drums, and harp.

The music video, produced by Dublin-based studio Algorithm, follows Saint Sister’s Morgana MacIntyre and Gemma Doherty as they wander through the Wicklow countryside at night, reflecting on their time spent away from home.

Written while the duo were on tour in North America in 2018, the song explores a well-worn theme for musicians – maintaining your closest relationships while you’re travelling around the world for work. MacIntyre’s lyrics are upfront and honest: “I know it’s weird this thing we do / yes I tell you far too much / yes I bet you’re tired of talking too.”

Using this long-distance struggle as inspiration, MacIntyre explains that the song more generally explores the “intricacies within your most cherished and complicated relationships,’’ and in particular for her, ‘’wanting to be a better friend, but knowing I would never be.”

This is the fourth single from Saint Sister’s sophomore album Where I Should End, which is out June 25th. It is available to pre-order here.
